singapore Idol - 28 July

Yesterday was jazz night!
By all that's holy! its my favourite music genre! (apart from rock of course! im a Rock Queen!)

I love the vocals from Nurul, Matilda, Jonathan and Jay. They sang songs that I too sag along. I agree with some of the judges's comments though. for instance, Kay can sing perfectly, too bad, he doesnt inject enough character into the song. Matilda too sang well, but she is missing the ooomph! factor for an idol. Nurul sang a lovely jass song that I thought she delivered pretty well but there were instances when she was clearly out of breathe. Therefore I agree with Jacinta that she ought not have sat on the chair. It constricts her air passage and restricts the movement of the diaphragm which is essential in good singing.

I did not think that Paul Twohill did particularly well yesterday. But he is still not the worse.

So I am guessing this week it would jasmine or emilee who would be voted out.
What say you?

Singapore Idol - my take...

Do you watch the Singapore Idol ?

Frankly speaking being someone being musically inclined, I find that this season's idol contestants are just barely making the mark. And if you compare these contestants to those from American Idol, the original show that the Singapore Idol is based on, they probably can't even make it through to the audition rounds.

I seriously think that there are some contestants are worth staying and some should have long gone out.

Tonight's one of those surprise vote nights.

Gayle Nerva was voted out.
It surprised me because I think Gayle can really sing. Her nemesis was a song wrongly chosen.

Probably that say much about life too. One wrong choice and you are damned for life.
Such are cruel facts of reality. I digress... please excuse me.

Anyhow back to the idol competition, I think JAsmine should have been voted off long time ago, she can't sing and for the past 3 weeks I have watched, she's performing really badly!

NExt person to vote off probably would be Joakim Gomez. I mean please listen to how he sings and how he behave on the stage. Dick Lee called him a MONKEY! I really do not think that he can sing!

I know alot of people have been saying that JAsmine's pretty and Joakim's handsome, but you know this is a singing competition not ms. Singapore or Mr. Singapore, so .. I expect more vocal talents.

I dont know about you, but the people to watch I think would be Jonathan Leong, Paul Twohill, Rahimah...

What's your take?

Yup, as most of you know, I left school to pursue studies and I have graduated once again!

It was cool, except that this time round, I did not get to wear the mortar board, my parents werent around.

the valendictorian was my classmate, so her heart flet speech on behalf of us really moved me. I shed tears at my 2nd graduation! something I did not do at my first!

This certificate is hard earned and the road to my future starts again from here...
